The spring road racing season is over and it's finally time for the mountain bike racing season to begin. This weekend kicks off the racing with some good events, including the Cable Off-Road Classic in Northwest Wisconsin and the first MNSCS - Erik's Spring Cup at Salem Hills Regional Park.
Also, plans are underway for the Lebanon Hills Time Trial to come back this year (June 30th). Sponsored by BCR! Check back for more updates on this.

It's been awhile since the last update, but we must have been too busy racing! Here's a recap of the end of summer and fall racing activities....
Yes, the heat did finally break and the rains finally came in August, right in the middle of the MNSCS Comp/Expert race in Welch. Earlier races were able to escape the threatening skies, but on the last lap of the day the heavens finally decided to open up. The singletrack quickly turned to the kind of epic mud that cakes onto your wheel to the point where it stops turning completely. Of course the steep hills didn't go away, which made "the Wall" unclimbable and many downhills treacherous. After forgetting something at home and thus arriving late for the race, the mud just topped off a really bad hair day. But persistence pays off, as I still scored a 3rd place in my age class! (There were only three due to no-shows and abandonments).
