Having a Blast at Hillside

What a beautiful weekend to enjoy the singletrack sweetness at the Hillside Blast Benefit Race. Tyson and Adam enjoyed over 3 hours of fun in the Enduro class event, while Lisa and Scott lined up for the Sport race. Plenty of sunshine, warm temps, and all for a good cause - to benefit development of the great trails of Elk River's Hillside trail system. A great way to kick off the mountain biking season!

Ridin in the rain ...

Rainy days getting you down? Well, that doesn't stop BCR riders! Ken Woods Memorial Road Race and the Ironman Bike Ride were on tap this last weekend (Can you spot the BCR looney in pack?). We had a good group in the Ironman with Adam, Scott, Dan, Theron, and Tyson doing the 100 miles (wink, wink) in the pouring rain. Sunny days are ahead, and mountain bike racing is about to kick off with the Hillside Blast MTB event this weekend.

Oxbow Spring Classic

Dan & Wiken climbing the Oxenberg.

The first race of the season for BCR riders took place at the Oxbow Spring Classic, billed as a Paris-Roubaix style race with dirt roads, narrow paths, and one very steep climb donned as the "Oxenberg". Ty, Wiken, Dan, and new guy Mike Lalla all lined up for the 'B' race fun, which took them up the 20% grade Oxenberg 3 times. Ty chose a singlespeed for additional challenge, while everyone else was on road/cyclocross bikes.
